Dave’s Bass #1

Built in the mid-80s for Dave Lambard of Spoooge, a Baltimore-based band, this is one in a series of left-handed basses in a very custom style. Solid teak, with an ebony fingerboard and a Moonstone Guitars truss rod (no longer available). The tuning machines inset in the body were an improvement over the original bass made for him, which had piano pins to perform the function of the tuners, in keeping with Dave's minimalist flair. The side view shows the tone control switches and volume slider, with inlaid ebony position marker.
