Acoustic / Electric Guitar
Originally built for Stevie Wayne Tillson in 1996, this guitar was entirely rebuilt after the top was irreparably damaged. It was designed with a 26" string length (for easier fingering up to the 24th fret) and a wide string spacing at the nut, which approximated the feel that Stevie had only been able to achieve by removing the octave strings from a 12-string guitar. These are photos of the rebuilt guitar, which has a Maccaferri-style spruce top, maple sides and neck, and a cedar back. The fingerboard and hand-carved bridge are ebony. It has a Schatten soundboard pickup.
